The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2001 with the vision of preparing graduates with strong technical knowledge to face global challenges, engage in research activities, and serve society with commitment.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2001 with the vision of preparing graduates with strong technical knowledge to face global challenges, engage in research activities, and serve society with commitment.

The B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme has successfully produced 20 graduating batches, with alumni excelling in leading global companies, reputed research organizations, and entrepreneurial ventures. The department offers the undergraduate programme B.E. – EEE, the postgraduate programme M.E. – Power Systems Engineering, and Ph.D. programmes in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, reflecting sustained efforts in delivering quality education and nurturing technically competent graduates. It is also recognized as a Research Centre by Anna University for offering Ph.D. programmes.

Over the years, the department has made remarkable contributions to research and innovation. It has secured ₹153 lakhs in R&D funding from organizations such as the All India Council for Technical Education, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Indian Space Research Organisation, along with other leading industries. Our strong research culture is reflected in 413+ publications, including high-impact journals, with the highest impact factor recorded at 16.3. The department also holds 66 patents, of which 19 have been granted.

    PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex electrical engineering problems.

    PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze electrical engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

    PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex electrical engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
